Jaws Tow-in World Cup

Peahi (located about 8 km past Hookipa in Maui), also known as JAWS, is the premiere big-wave, tow-in surf spots of the world, where the annual Jaws Tow-in World Cup is held. The holding period for the next Annual Jaws Tow-in World Cup officially begins in December and goes through March, as the extreme surfers wait for the big sets to arrive. This is quite the event but you have to be lucky enough to be in Maui when the surf is up. 25-50 foot sets are required. Peahi is a bit difficult to find so you are going to have to ask the locals in the area how to find the access road. In Maui at the wrong time- Just rent the DVD "Step into Liquid" and see one of the most exciting surf movies ever made! Satisfaction guaranteed!
